Alex J. van Pelt, founder of the company

Alex (Lex) van Pelt founded VP Security & Savety N.V. in 1993, after more than 25 years of providing security to the public sector as a police officer and at senior management positions with private security companies. Alex van Pelt graduated at the Netherlands Police Academy in 1975. He holds degrees in various areas of law regarding the government, business and private sectors. In the period 1981 till 1986 he was responsible for training police officers in these areas in the Netherlands.

In 1988 Alex van Pelt emigrated from the Netherlands to Curacao. From that year until 1990 he was the Security Manager of ABC Beveiliging Curacao, a local well known security firm.

In 1990 Alex van Pelt was asked by Curacao Hospitality Services(CHS) to join as a managing director and set up security for the downtown area of Willemstad, the capital of Curacao. He held this position until mid 1996. During this period the security operation of CHS grew to a professional organization of 50 employees wich secured the downtown area of Willemstad. In the year 1993 he got permission by the board of CHS to start his own company in the business of security systems installations. From that year on the company showed a healthy growth.

Since january 1st  2008 Ruud Van Eijzeren took over ownership and management of VP Safety & Security.

Ruud’s working experience exceeds over 30 years in several functions from technical execution and (international) management trough commercial jobs and general management up to CEO-level. His experience in the various functions is gained in a variety of market segments. In 1996 he started his private company, specialized in Human Resource (executive search, interim management and flex personnel). Due to rapid growth he sold part of his shares to a established “holding” company of which he became CEO (6 daughter companies and 700 employees). Acquisitions, reorganizations, set-up of new businesses etc. have been common practice.

After selling his shares he started up a company called Qx‘tract. Qx’tract advices/assists companies/entrepreneurs, who are very often focussed on “primary” issues, forgetting the so called secondary (internal) issues that are basic for the ability to react on market circumstances. These advices enable management to keep concentrating on making money and doing what they’re good at, whilst pending important business issue’s are taken care of.

As of 2005 he started an equal business at Curacao called QBS NV (Q-racao Business Support) with the same company goal as above mentioned. At Curacao he supported and managed various foreign entrepreneurs to set up their business from the country of origin to Curacao v.v. Key project at Curacao was the setup of Albert Heijn’s Supermarket on behalf of the Dutch investor.

Ruud joined various branch associations in which he held executive positions.

Ruud graduated from technical school (engineer) and business school (master) at Eindhoven Holland.
